What Custom Injection Molding Delivers
Custom plastic injection molding produces high-precision, repeatable thermoplastic parts to your exact geometry, material, and tolerance specification — not off-the-shelf components. It is the lowest unit-cost route to volume production once tooling is amortized, and it carries fine detail, consistent wall sections, and complex features that machining or 3D printing cannot match at scale. The decision to commit to a custom mold is a decision about program economics: the right molding partner protects your tooling investment across the full part lifecycle.
- Tight dimensional repeatability shot-to-shot across production runs
- Broad thermoplastic and engineering-resin compatibility
- Decreasing unit cost as volume scales against amortized tooling
- Integrated features — bosses, ribs, snap-fits, living hinges — molded in a single shot
LongTeam's End-to-End Capability
LongTeam runs a one-stop OEM and ODM program: in-house mold design, tooling fabrication, injection molding, and downstream assembly under one roof in Tainan, Southern Taiwan. Our press fleet spans 80 to 850 tonnes, covering small precision components through large structural parts, and we are a two-shot (2K / double-shot) molding specialist for multi-material parts that would otherwise require secondary assembly. Keeping design, tooling, and production in a single facility removes the supplier hand-offs where lead time and accountability typically erode.
- In-house mold design and tooling — no third-party tool-shop hand-off
- Injection presses from 80 to 850 tonnes
- Two-shot (2K) molding for bonded multi-material parts
- Assembly and value-added finishing to ship production-ready parts
From DFM Review to Validated Production
Every custom program begins with a design-for-manufacturability (DFM) review — wall thickness, draft, gate location, and resin selection are resolved before steel is cut, where they are cheapest to change. We then build the tool, run mold trials (T1 onward), validate dimensions against your drawings, and move into qualified production. This disciplined progression is what keeps a new tool from stalling in rework cycles and protects your launch timeline. Trial counts and qualification lead times depend on part complexity and program requirements.
- DFM and resin review before tooling
- Mold trials with dimensional validation against your specification
- First-article and sample approval prior to volume release
Quality Systems Built for Regulated Programs
LongTeam operates under ISO 9001 quality management, IATF 16949 for automotive, and ISO 13485 for medical devices — the certifications that sourcing teams in regulated sectors require before they will qualify a new molder. A molder whose quality system already maps to these standards generates the documentation your supplier-approval process depends on, compressing qualification timelines rather than introducing risk. We serve automotive, medical and aesthetic, consumer and household, and electronics customers, and export to the US, Japan, Europe, India, and Southeast Asia.
- ISO 9001 — quality management
- IATF 16949 — automotive
- ISO 13485 — medical devices
- Controlled-environment / cleanroom molding where a program requires it (ISO class confirmed against your specification), process-capability (Cpk) and PPAP submission support aligned to your program, and inspection equipment
Founded in 1989 — a Long-Term Manufacturing Partner
With more than 40 years of injection molding experience since 1989, LongTeam is built for the long-running supply relationships that custom tooling demands. A custom mold is a multi-year asset, and the value of your partner compounds over that lifecycle through tool maintenance, process consistency, and engineering continuity.
