    Injection Mold Design & Manufacturing

Injection mold design and manufacturing connected to DFM, trials, production requirements, maintenance, and tool ownership. Programs can begin with controlled CAD data or a physical part that needs 3D CAD and STEP reconstruction.

Start with CAD—or reverse engineer a physical part

If controlled 3D data exists, provide the current file and drawing. If it does not, LongTeam can measure a physical sample and reconstruct 3D CAD with a STEP deliverable. Before work begins, define the sample condition, interfaces, critical dimensions, tolerances, intended changes, and the customer's authorization to reproduce the part.

Design the mold as a production system

Parting line, cavities, actions, gates, runners, vents, cooling, steel, ejection, sensors, handling, and maintenance should be reviewed together.

    • Record DFM decisions and open risks
    • Connect cooling and filling to dimensional intent
    • Provide access for maintenance and replacement

Give each trial a defined objective

Trial labels vary between suppliers. Each run should state what it is intended to prove, the material and process used, samples and measurements required, changes identified, and exit criteria.

Protect the tool throughout its life

Document ownership, approved configuration, maintenance, repairs, spares, storage, modifications, and transfer rights before production.
